Yeah! The game isn't dead, even if there hasn't been any news since July. Unbelievable... isn't it?

You may have to get used to it... but when there is news, it's usually not petty, like in this case, because now the game has a release date. And that's not all!

Well, it's not a secret anymore! It will be Saturday, June 21st, save the date! The game is basically already complete in the portion of the story that will be included in Early Access, with additional chunks of the story to be released consecutively. But since there are still various areas for improvement, I want to release a game that feels like a complete experience and will hopefully improve technically in the future, especially in terms of lighting, level design, 3D models, and so on. Of course, this Early Access period will be helpful for gathering suggestions to improve gameplay as well. We're looking forward to reading your comments, even if, unfortunately, the game doesn't have the potential to be an AAA title.

Barring extraordinary events, Ternion will take part in the Steam Next Fest in June 2025. This means you'll be able to talk with the developer, ask questions, insult the game, and much more. And it also means you'll be able to play a demo.

Exactly. A demo was not planned in the beginning, but it will be released. And it will be available a few days before the game's release. It will be quite short, but it will give you an idea of what the final game will be like.

As I said before, it's not an AAA game and was developed by a single developer. Due to its lower technical quality, the price will be relatively low compared to most titles currently on the market. But I really hope the game itself will still be enjoyable and a memorable experience despite its indie nature. The current price, though, will slightly increase when the Early Access period is over. It won't cost $80, but there will be a slight price increase due to the additional content and as a way to reward those who believed in the project from its earliest stages.

But that's still not all!

Yes! Because along with the game's release, a new Discord server will open, allowing you to chat about the game if you feel like it. I don't know if anyone will actually want to do this, but since we use Discord a lot during development, it would be nice to make it open to external people: to interact, maybe even to create opportunities for relationships that have nothing to do with the game.

Are you ready to embark on a crazy journey? “Ternion,” our highly anticipated sci-fi JRPG, has just reached a new stage of development. As the game’s Early Access launch approaches, players are in for a treat.

The part of the story that will be released with Early Access has been fully completed. This portion contains roughly 60% of the total game (with the meat of the story yet to come!), but it provides a good idea of what the completed game will be like. Even though some elements of the story are still to be discovered, you can start making assumptions by reading all the documents and investigating the lore you find around.

We still can't release the game because there's a significant number of bugs and improvements that need to be addressed before the game is released as Early Access. Notably, there's a boss that is currently a placeholder and needs to be replaced with its final version. However, those who have access to the closed beta already have access to the entirety of the Main Campaign that will be released with Early Access. The plan for the future is to record a trailer to reveal the final release date for Early Access. As soon as Early Access is released, we'll continue working on the second part of the game, taking into account all of your reviews and suggestions during the process.

I wish I could give a precise prediction of how much time it will take, but I can't commit to a specific timeline at this moment. However, at the current trend, I would say not before two years after the release of Early Access. Future updates will likely add additional content and hopefully secondary missions. I'm sorry that development will take so much time, but currently, I'm a solo developer, and it takes a lot of time to make all the cutscenes and design the levels by myself. And I'm doing this as a hobby after my full-time job, so please forgive me if the release of the final game is later than predicted!

I've been in contact with another team because we both wanted to call our games "Ternion," and they have been kind enough to let us keep the name "Ternion," which I've used for quite a long time for this project. They didn't ask me to do this, but I wanted to give a shoutout to them because I genuinely think they made a very fun game (I'm a fan of FPS games myself).
