Starting the game bug?

I have played this game through a few times without any big gameplay problems.

But now when I try to start a new game it gives me the beginning but the story doesn't start. Just an empty background. Only thing visible is the stats which can be clicked. That only opens the windows that explain what each stat is and that my current stat is 0.

I have tried to start the game again but that doesn't help....

Any ideas?

Looks like the problem has been there at least 3 months according to older topics. Damn.

There they had instucted to mail their support: [e-mail]

I'll see if I can be bothered or if I'll switch to other games as well. This game was just an interactive storybook anyway. I would have wanted to get the achievements but what can you do.

I sent an email to the support but the response was something in the lines of "sorry for your technical difficulties" and not much else. :S

If someone figures out how to fix this please message here.

Have you tried going to settings -> reset monster? After trying everything that i possibly could, that FINALLY did the trick.

I have the same problem. I start up the game and its just the background art, a single monster I can click on and statistics. There's nothing else I can do to progress. Restarting doesn't help either and neither does reinstalling or changing between full screen and windowed mode.

I'm eyeing Steam Refunds. The game is completely broken for me.


Edit: After Restarting some 3 times, the game finally loads...

It had better be good after this within the 2 hours before I can refund...
