No random rigs you can get into like in part 1 and 2? Absolutely love it. Having your own rig which you can upgrade and take into much more levels and terrains than before feels great. Also, the rig combat is a nice change from the run and gun #1 and run and gun #2 you had in the other parts when you entered a rig.
No achievements? Well, I can see how that can be a deal breaker for some, but let's be honest. Achievements have absolutely no effect on how the gameplay is, so using that to bad mouth the gameplay is redundant.
A lot of backtracking? I actually didn't find it that much, especially since you get fast travel pretty early on. I can see how it still might be too much for others, but on the one hand it gets flak for backtracking, on the other hand I would bet my reputation that it would be called a way too linear game if you would jump from one level to the other and just progress through the story.
Game mechanics are flawed? I don't see it. It has literally the same mechanices as all the other LP titles and so many more third person shooters out there. It doesn't re-invent the wheel but it doesn't turn it into a square either. The gameplay feels actually more fluid than in XCom Declassified by a long shot. People also complained that you can only grapple in pre-determined spots. I wonder why, because the free grappling in 1 and 2 only made it a pain to find the spot where you have to latch onto to make it up the ledge or past a wall or something. The pre-determined spots only help keep the gameplay flowing.
Weak Multiplayer/No Co-op? Here's the only two things where I fully agree with critics. Not having a co-op mode is probably the biggest gripe with this game I could have, since both 1 and 2 were a lot of fun in co-op to play. I haven't tested the Multiplayer myself yet (mainly due to connection issues with the gamespy ID thing) but from how hard it is to even get it going, I don't expect it to hold any innovation or gripping game modes over its predecessors.
So yeah, here you go. My opinion about Lost Planet 3 that no one asked for. I'd give it a 7/10 for the Singleplayer experience and gameplay experience itself, then chop off 1 for the missing co-op and 0.5 for the flawed Multiplayer. That means 5.5/10 in the end. But again, this is due to the Multiplayer part of the game. If you are looking for a solid and fun Singleplayer experience, it's a 7/10 and well worth the 40 bucks.
So long!
I like this Mp team deathmatch way better than part 2 I only wish they gave us a demo for pc because had I known it was this fun I would have preordered it. Im sorry I missed the pre order I just wish I had the dlc chars now (bias reviews). I hope they make them available I want to play as the crew members so bad now I noticed many online payers had different characters. I dont mind the standard soldiers it comes with though.
lol you like the rig? moving at the speed of snorlax. 3 attacks? all day? and what? grab ♥♥♥♥ and drill. snore fest fast. no transformable vs no flying and dodging giant akrids...
now you want to talk about mechanics? heres an example of pretty much every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ akrid boss. LEFT STRIKE OH GAWD SO SLOW press dodge. RIGHT STRIKE OH GAWD SO SLOW press dodge... OH GOD MIDDLE AWESOME STRIKE too slow press dodge. WHAT? akrid spawn eggs! annnnnd repeat. while mindless hold fire button on its weak spot in a confined area. and free grappling a pain? man you must not know what the human mind is or you might have used it. i love jumping off in lp3 just to grapple on to the next platform that is directly leveled and next to it instead of grappling the floor on THAT platform. dont forget those turrets you fix up doesn't even shoot properly...what's up with that?
not one fight in this whole game is challenging.
lol your arguement sucks and brought no evidence but lack of a human mind to comprehend mechanics and gameplay.
