Check out The dead linger, very promising zombie survival game.
In alpha atm, can purchase for only $20/£12.70. Like minecraft buy now, have forever, can install anywhere and no crappy cash shops.

A very nice dev team, that work constantly around the clock, always pumping out updates and new alpha versions.
Get it now and watch it grow from the early alpha state that its in to a full on release, its also loosely based on the minecraft world idea.
It randomly generates itself and unlike the tiny war z its massive. Keeps on going and going.

Going to be mainy pve focused aswell, with item combining, and every door/cabinet openable.

In alpha ver 005 atm, and 006 is coming early this week with a huge amount of new updates including multi story buildings etc.

Anyway, yeah, I already picked up TDL but I haven't touched it since initial release. The first playable alpha build was so rough that I don't really wanna check back for a while - give it time to really get built up.

Ye, I am happy at the pace they are going at. They are insanley dedicated, quit their real jobs and are living off the alpha sales.

They add things so quickly, unlike the warz.
It took them weeks to try calm the storm, and do you know the only thing they mustered up in two weeks was katanas........

This thread here aswell, they promised again on their own website than within the month they would have all those features, not one feature is anywhere close to coming out =)

Oh warz so many promises.

Nothing except katanas, and nerfed gun rates is all that has came out of the warz in a few months, I think they are getting ready to dash =p

I don't mind taking the ideas of others and trying to use them and expanding upon them. But seeing how this genre is now getting a-lot of attention I worry that it's going to have the CoD effect where the market gets bombarded with clones that never actually aim to improve. Even worse is that things tend to get dumbed down through this as well.

Also @ the OP in the game's about page http://undeadlabs.com/about-state-of-decay/ I saw nothing claiming it to be a MMO.

I think that is the one that will initially release as a single-player game and (when it is ready) plans to add multiplayer. I'm not sure it is claimed to be, or supposed to reach, MMO status... just regular multiplayer.

I've looked through the forums and I'm surprised this hasn't been talked about yet.

Undead Labs is a small company of industry veterans (sound like War Z?) making two zombie upcoming games for the Xbox 360, code named Class 3 and Class 4.

Class 3 will be an XBL Arcade/PC title that is singleplayer.
Class 4 will be a full release title that is multiplayer zombie MMO, much like War Z.

The Dead Linger is homozygously unfinished (thank you spell check). Impossible to tell if that'll end up being any good or bad.

State of Decay is a singleplayer game AFAIK, might be wrong. But Class 4 or whatever they're calling it is what's supposed to be the MMO thing.
