i believe they flipped the numbers around and that 93% hated the game (40+50=90=/93). in the battle of dayz vs warz dayz wins by a long shot, because in warz's case you buy the game, play die in 2 seconds and have to wait 60 minutes to respawn and you cant find anything. in dayz's case however, you its far from being a money grab even though you have to buy arma 2 combined ops. and there coming out with stand-alone dayz this year hopefully (if it proves buggy its easily justified because two of their lead devs have been arrested on counts of espionage) you go looking for supplies and dont have to buy anything at all (in warz you buy items with real money) and if you get bored of dayz you can still play arma, one of the best and most realistic fps ever for maybe $30 (keep in mind dayz is still in alpha)
And the funniest and probably saddest thing, he says 93% of people like the game? He still hasn't adressed ANYTHING that's happened officially on the official forums. No word, no posts, nothing. And yet he does an interview for Kotaku.
Realy classy Sergey, it's not like your game has a forum full of fans waiting to hear just what the hell is happening with the game.
Because nobody would buy this ♥♥♥♥ if they knew he was gonna do what he he always does and promise a bunch of stuff that he cant deliver, then abandon the project the second the sales stop, and start another vaporware title.
He did it with big rigs, and he did it with war inc... Sergey is a liar and a con, his dubious claims of numbers are pure BS... If 93% of the people who bought this game are happy with it I'll kiss Sergey's butt on national TV.
Just for kicks let's look at some numbers...
There is a petition for refunds that has aprox. 1150 supporters. If we were to say they represent the "7%" of unhappy customers, a little math leads us to a total playerbase of roughly 16,429.
But wait, Sergey claims to have over 500,000 registered players... If we say this is the one time that Sergey has told the truth about anything and go with this number 7% of it is 35,000.
35,000 unhappy people who feel scammed and want a refund, says Sergey himself.
That is ALOT of people, if they were standing in a line it would be over 20 miles long.
If you sell a product and have a line 20 miles long of people trying to get thier money back because they are unhappy with the product, then you are doing something VERY wrong.
But wait... There are still 465,000 satisfied customers Sergey says.
93% of 500,000 is 465,000 for those that might be a little slow on the math.
So for the sake of simplifying the equation lets just say that everyone paid 20 dollars for the game, on average.
So $20 x 500,000 = $10,000,000 ....10 Million dollars. Wow. If this is the best that Hammerpoint can do with a operating budget of 10 million dollars... they need to be embarassed.
So Hammerpoint collected 10 million in sales, why not refund those unhappy people and put an end to all the hatred towards them?
Afterall it's a mere 7%, $700,000 dollars worth of refunds being demanded by people who feel ripped off and scammed.
Hammerpoint would still be sitting pretty with 9.3 million, and a little of thier integrity in tact.
You know why Hammerpoint won't issue the refunds?
2 reasons:
1. GREED
Sergey Titov is a unscrupulous hack, not a hacker, but just a sub par coder that is notorious for making big claims then delivering shabby, unfinished and broken games, this is nothing new for him.
He is content with conning as much out of as many as he can, then changing the name of his company, stealing someone elses idea and starting the whole process over again.
The ethics and conduct of this man are nothing short of nefarious.
The first time it really caught public attention was with Big Riggs Racing, known as one of the worst games ever released. It was complete dog poop. Read the wiki.
His next project was War, inc.. another flop, go read their forums and do some research it's more of the same. Lot's of promises and lies with little to nothing delivered, the game is now abandoned..
His latest is this steaming dogpile, WarZ... a blatent rip off and cash in on the concept and success of DayZ, shameless and disgraceful.
and
2. He is FULL of sh*t.
There are nowhere NEAR 500,000 people playing this stinker of a zombie game.. I'd say MAYBE 20,000.
There are 220 US servers with 50 slots each, a total of 11,000 slots on US servers and the same for EU servers.. total of 22,000 slots available to play The warZ..
What are the other 78% of the people who bought the game doing? And that would only be 22% of the games community could play at any 1 time IF the servers were full to capasity...which they never are.
The guy talks so much crap he needs a hat with a toilet paper dispenser on it to wipe his mouth off every 5 minutes.
If 80% of the people who bought the game were unable to play at any 1 time, there would be so much publicity about it that we would never hear the end of it...
This guy needs to be banished from the development community.
Well said my good man, well said... What I find funny is that the screenshots they released to the public for PR reasons make the game look totally ♥♥♥♥ hot, but from those I've seen from within game it looks as bad as the graphics in a game such as Anarchy Online.
Couldn't agree more.
Considering War Z's lead developer is responsible for Big Rigs, one of the top 10 worst PC games released post Windows 95, it's not hard to imagine that maybe he has just designed yet another terrible game. To be honest I'm more surprised that he's even working in the industry after Big Rigs than anything else. Having that game in your portfolio has to be borderline irreparable.
You might also want to consider that as soon as the game became "playable" and the complaints started rolling in, they immediately tried to ammend their ToS to negate the possibility of refunds in anticipation for exactly what ended up happening.
