The game ISN'T an MMO in any way whatsoever.
But to answer the OP, yes, there are a lot of hackers.
what this games does is it has punkbuster and fairfight to catch and ban them which is the same thing basically that ea uses to protect games like battlefield from hackers...
punkbuster looks for hacks on players computer such as in memory, running, on the disk in the registry
fairfight looks at telemetry, data, collected by the client and the server for cheating, glitching, exploiting bugs
both work together to identify and ban (remove) hackers
no better solution exists out there at the moment to find and remove hackers.
so where there maybe hackers/cheaters out there this game is doing basicaly what major studios do to get rid of them.
