Can't harvest thorn flowers?

I keep running into this issue on planets like Kabuuf where thorn plants grow. The flowers on top of the plants aren't harvestable with the buzzsaw. The game acts as if they aren't there. On another planet, one of the plants had a flower I could harvest which would come back from time to time, and now it too has an un-harvestable flower and I can't find any others that can be harvested. Chopping down the whole plant only gives stalks/buds. Restarting the game doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?

you need to grow them in oxygen if I recall otherwise you only get stalks and buds

I'm pretty certain its a bug. I've been having the same problem and can't complete my last recipe that requires the thorn flower. Normally you harvest the flower by using the buzzsaw or punching the flower since chopping or shooting the stalk only gives thorn stalk. However sometimes you can't hit the flower at all as if its not there. I have a theory as to how this bug might be triggered. When the flower spawns while you're playing, you can interact with it perfectly fine, but if you load out of the game and reload your save with flowers that have already spawned from a previous play session, the flowers will all bug out and you won't be able to interact with them. I can't fully confirm this, but I've had this happen several times and it seems to be because I loaded out. Perhaps it can be tested by waiting for a new flower to spawn within the same map in the same session that also has a bugged flower and see if the newly spawned flower can be interacted with.

still quite certain it's still around. i've been having this issue quite frequently actually, seems like the only thing that fixes it is resetting the whole planet.
