server not working need help.
ok so i tried to create a server so i could play with my friend but is wasn't responding so i tried hamachi that didn't work ether so i tried the dedicated server with hamachi but that crashed or gave me and my friend a "steam validation rejected" error and yes i've tried sv_lan 0 and still nothing. please help.

Have you port forwarded? Have you set the IP in the console?

i have no idea how to port foward and yes i set the ip in the console

This should not change anything. If it ask for IPv6, ignore it/leave it blank. If IPv6 is your only option, then there is no need to port forward.

if what asks for ipv6? i just dont know what part of the numbers shown is my default gateway

If your router asks for IPv6 in the port forwarding. However, to find the Default Gateway, open up the command prompt and type in "ipconfig" without the "". Look for the line that reads Default Gateway. On the same line is the address. Put that number into your searchbar.

It should look more along the lines of ###.###.#.#. obviously the numbers differ, but just look for the line that says Default Gateway. It should be at the bottom of the list where you see IPv6, IPv4, Subnet Masks, and a few others.

found it but i got ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT when i searched it. (
it was somthing like 25.0.0.1 if that helps)

Try a different browser if you can, and enter just the number, no .com or http://.
