Changing language for Half Life Co-op Campaign
So, yesterday I realized that playing HL with Sven co-op is only available in English and I could not find any way to change it. I was searching in google but only there is information about other languages in versions before 5.0. I have HL in my library and I wonder if there is a way to use it with Sven co-op. I would like to play it in Spanish with some friends who do not understand English.

Based on the information on the store page. Sven coop is only available for English.

Since Sven 5.xx is its own game now and not a mod relying off HL's main files, I'm pretty sure those tutorials will not work even if you try.

If you have Half-Life installed in spanish you can copy the sounds/ folder from steamapps/common/Half-Life/valve_spanish/ to steamapps/common/Sven Co-op/svencoop_addons/

That should let you hear all sounds in spanish. Atleast for the HL campaign.

I don't know how it works in other languages but in the german version they also used a totally different sentences.txt so you may need that too but that would probably lead to new problems.

Maybe the spanish version doesn't need it but yeah I'm not sure.

The entries in sentences.txt point to files in the sound directory, so I'd imagine copying over all sounds would take care of that. The entences.txt file is inside sound/ anyway so that will hopefully not be a problem. I shall test it.

The sound bits that build sentences have not been translated from what I can tell.

If it works with sounds folder its ok for me. I need conversations in Spanish only.

Anyway, using older versions of both Half Life & Sven Co-op will work without problems. But we won't be able to play through Steam :(.
