How to play sven co-op with steam friends
Hello, I am not familiar with hosting servers and I just want to play sven co-op with a friend. When I saw the update that "Implemented Steam P2P (peer-to-peer) based network layer. Allows players to host listen servers without the hassle of port forwarding. (usage: "connect STEAM_1:1:12345678")" I was pretty excited. However, it still does not seem to work. Could someone give me a quick rundown on how I would connect to a friend's game via steam p2p?

Enable the console
Start a server (with more than 1 player slot)
Type commands sv_lan 0 and status
find YOUR steam ID it should look something like "STEAM_1:1:12345678"
Give that to your friend(s) and they type connect "your steam ID"

To connect to a friends game then give them these instructions and tell them to follow them

You may also need to omit the quotes around the Steam ID, e.g.
connect STEAM_0:1:123456789

How would I start a server? Whenever I click on the "start game" tab, it connects me to a random server. Am I doing something wrong?

The "Create Game" option will start what's known as a listen server, whereby it's running locally on your PC and you're playing on it. At this point your friends can join in.

There is no matchmaking screen between these points.

Also while your listen server is running if you close the game or disconnect everyone else playing will also be removed.

The person creating the game is shown this in their console. Scroll to the top and look for:

Initializing Steam P2P networking Local SteamID: STEAM_0:1:338750

What Steam ID shows up?

You could copy your community profile URL { https://steamcommunity.com/id/supermervio } to the input at https://steamid.io/ to reveal your Steam IDs.
Apparently yours is STEAM_0:1:547574839.
