Sven Co-op

Sven Co-op

Help - Steam Validation Rejected When I try and Join my Dedicated Server
I cant play on Sven Co-op servers due to my internet being to fast, so I tried making my own server for me and my mates to play on only to run into another problem... ffs the grind never ends. How do you get a dedicated server to work?

Same thing happened to me a year ago when I tried to join my own dedicated server being hosted from the same computer on the same account. No idea how to fix it.

If you have a secondary computer, you could host a dedicated server from there from a different account. Or possibly figure out how to host it from a different account on the same computer. (I doubt that's a thing)

I've just been informed that SteamCMD is the way to go when hosting a dedicated server, just in case you're using SvenDS. Might also fix this issue, since it can be run outside of the Steam client and with a different/anonymous account.

There's also this guide, no idea if it works:

Thanks for the Info friend ill check it out tomorrow after work, Side note looks like people are still having trouble even with this fix. Do most servers owners rent or do they know something we dont?

Yes this is a real issue, When I join a server I get an error saying reliable connection overflow, this is due to my internet provider sending information to the server to quickly causing it to flood the server. Hence my internet is to fast, old games like this cant take extremely fast internet and the server cuts my connection to it, causing a reliable connection overflow.

Eh, did you mess with the game's rates or something? That shouldn't happen.

Yes I messed with the games rates to try and fix this problem, but even on my other pc I installed sven co-op fresh and tryed playing on a server and still got a reliable connection overflow

This occurs when the connection between you and the server is to slow, try using standard settings as below (I assume you know how to use the Console):
rate 80000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
