Still the announcement was missing and dodging too much important info, for example being asked to wishlist the game, how will the old players benefit from this? will we be able to log into the game right away connecting our steam account to 3dxchat? or we will also need to enter our login into? and also there was nothing about if the game will be buy to play in steam and then with a sub to continue such as subscription games? or what exactly? also are the devs aware that steam may and may not cause somehow a huge flood of new players into the game server? it's good news and all but there are more that needs clarification to actually consider trying the steam version or simply stick to the standard and done.

As of right now the server itself seems like barely holding up to begin with, UNLESS they are actually migrating to steam servers or something? I don't know, there is just too much clarification or assurance missing.
