Camera woes!
Hi.

I have Sacred 2 on my Xbox 360 and enjoyed it, so I bought Sacred 2 Gold for my PC knowing I would like it and there was more to it, but..

I'm finding it really really hard to play :(

The camera is terrible, with my 360 I used the left analogue stick to walk and the right analogue stick to rotate the view.

Playing the PC version I have huge trouble with the horrible camera mode it gives you.
I've had the game days now but its unplayable like this..

is there anyway to fix or mod the game to that the camera control doesn't suck?? :(

Exactly how does the camera "suck"? You have to be more specific than that to get any meaningful help. We can't read minds. You can rotate the angle with the A and D keys.

You can use the sliders in the gameplay menu to set the behaviour of the camera. Try checking the "camera collision" option. I can only guess that you are annoyed at the camera not adjusting to terrain, blocking your view. Camera collision allows the camera to change angle when it "collides" with the terrain.

In narrow corridors the camera will behave erratically. Try having a closer zoom in these situations and a top-down angle.

Try this out as it supposed to help "free" up the camera:

I can't put my finger on exactly why its not right.

But after playing the Xbox version for months, I'm really used to having a free camera to turn around and zoom in/out. I've fiddled with the settings but none of them seem right.

I do have a wired 360 controller for my PC but that doesn't seem to work in Sacred 2 :(

If you are just looking for free camera control then turn off auto camera curve and use the middle mouse button to rotate. You can also zoom in and out using the mouse wheel. Make sure you put the zoom / curve sliders to the extreme (far left for min, far right for max) to get the most control.

Thank you,

I can rotate the camera and zoom in-out but I can't seem to 'tilt' the camera like I can with the 360 controller. I'd just like to tilt the camera about 20degs to give me a better view.

You should be able to tilt the camera if you turn off auto zoom curve. Hold down the middle mouse button and tilt the camera.

Nothing wrong with the camera. :S I preffer to lock the rotation in options though.
