What if the cake instead of being a lie was what made you being chased by aliens? Have you ever thought of that?

Well, the people behind this game certainly did as that is what triggers this run and gun game where you’re constantly being chased by one saucer across different worlds. You can only take one hit though so be fast and careful or try again and learn, that’s the way. At least, depending on the character you choose you can also upgrade your hit points and attack range and power. You’re certainly gonna need those in the later ones as you get to understand how to dodge and attack effectively.

Regarding the characters, Piggy is the standard shooter with a decent jump upgraded to more directions than just horizontal, giving you a bigger cover to hit some enemies and bosses. Then Paraffin is the melee character that hits upon being nearby but not touching the enemies, so be careful with that; and Turr just summons a buck of little birds that will most likely die but at least they can very easily get revived with an upgrade (it’s actually easier to control it than it may seem). In case you’re wondering, there are other characters which can be unlocked by either beating the campaign, really beating the campaign (reaching the final boss without dying) and doing some secret stuff (like going backwards in certain sections).

As you can see, the main highlight of the game is not only the main challenge but the one coming from learning to use other characters as well. Some are certainly more accessible than others yet all of them have their respective reward, more so all of them. Plus, the aesthetics portraying this might have plain colors but the bubbly effects from their animation and the horn sounding effects give it that charm that after every death soothes the pain a little bit.

I can’t say whether I’ll go back to this game in the future or not but you should definitely give it a shot in case this sounded like your alley. Oh and let me know in case you’re able to unlock mirror mode somehow.
