Likewise, I base this in comparison to the games Destroy All Humans and Destroy All Humans 2. Both were rated T, though you have the liberty of murdering INNOCENTS en masse with all sorts of weaponry -- not to mention the surplus of swearing. Whereas there were no F-bombs in either game, the S word was used frequently.
Based on ESRB's own past, JC2 should definitely qualify for T -- and JC3 is only slightly more in the grey.
But yeah, not that it matters. Children do play violent pc games and most of us could probably attest to that from our own experience (or am I wrong?). Adults stopping kids from purchasing a 16+ or 18+ is something that I almost never encountered in my life, but then again, perspectives may differ
I'm fairly certain this game wasn't originally intended to be a childs game, there are several indicators to that, such as dialogue and story relies on political satire for example, but somewhere down the line of development, they chose to go in a different direction, which is a shame imo.
Look at a game like GTA, it's not at all realistic, but it hasn't gone full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ either, like say Saints Row.
Imo, JC should move away from Saints Row and a bit more towards GTA.
There is a mission where you deliver alcohol with Mario and he is drunk as a skunk.
Surely a good messaage for kids.
