Will from now on, try to save your Save File once a day or more often. It's located in Documents/Square Enix/Just Cause 3 folder, just copy the entire folder some where safe. As for fixing your game right now, the only thing you could try is restart your PC and see if the save is seen the next time you start JC3. Other than that I have backups of my saves from different places as I progressed. I can post the save on my website that you could download and try. Just let me know. I did this for another person the other day. Actually right now I haven't done any missions on the big island (up north). I have one more provence to liberate in the islands below the big island and I just completed the weapon mission where you destroy the generators that power that ECM defense system protecting the Centcom at Corda Dracon and I just liberated it. That's where I am in the game. So that save is available for you if you can't get your's working.

Thank you for the offer. I have located the save file and copied it to my desktop. I have restarted my pc several times and tried loading the game several times as well, but still no joy. Where would i put the save file? Yes i would be interested in getting that save file, just in case this one does not work. I was a bit further on, but it would be much better than starting from the beginning.

Hey guys, ok here's what I will do. I have several saves I backed up. I will ZIP all of them into a zip file and post it on a page on my website. Give me a couple minutes to do that and I will post the Link back here....

@biggontour2 and @Asator there is one folder names "Just Cause 3 Latest 1 pass" that I think was from my previouis game, just before I started a brand new game. That save is the furtthest along in the game, getting the base at UMBRA and doing the first mission up there where you protect the Train. Also in just about all the saves I have Liberated that dual runway airbase on the big island called "Girphon" so I could have access to the Jets. Anyway, just FYI.

where should i put them? as i have replaced your save files in where my current save file were ( Documents/Square Enix/Just Cause 3 folder ) and it just creates new folders with same title as my original save file
Asator Dec 14, 2015 @ 7:57am
you should take the files in the folder "7...." to put them in your "7...." folder
Asator Dec 14, 2015 @ 7:57am
that "7...." folder is unique for each player

What I do since I play on two PCs and I don't use the Cloud since it doesn't work for JC3 last I checked, is I copy the latest savefolder into the Document/Square Enix folder, renaming it "Just Cause 3". I simply completely replace the Just Cause 3 folder in "Document/Square Enix" folder with the latest one. The game always saves into that "Just Cause 3" folder. So I don't recommend trying to somehow mess with files inside the folders I posted, just copy one folder at a time into the Square Enix folder renaming it "Just Cause 3" so the game works properly using that save.

So again, to make it easy, I would just copy ONE folder at a time(ONLY have one Just Cause 3 folder inside the Square Enix folder) into the Square Enix folder, rename it "Just Cause 3" and start the game, select "Continue" and see where you are at progress and map wise. Rinse and Repeat until you find the save folder that works IF any do. I wouldn't try to cram all those folders into the main Just Cause 3 folder, not sure what will happen, but you can't hurt anything I guess.

Also for backing up saves, just backup the entire Just Cause 3 folder, don't mess with sub-folders or files, just backup the entire Just Cause 3 folder you see in the Square Enix folder, that's how I made the back ups you just downloaded. Anyway, just a thought, it works for me.

IF that doesn't make sense let me know, I can elaborate as needed. Please let me know how things work out.

Thanks for your help guys/gals. I used the "latest 1 pass" save and it now loads and i can carry on with Rico's journey. I will give it a go soon, as i am hoping that Square Enix can find my account and hopefully get back to where i was originally before these issues. If they can, that would be best so i do not have to go and do all the collectibles again, but beggars cannot be choosers!

Much appreciated help as i am a lot less likely to rage quit this game now!

I know what you mean...At first I ranted/posted, pissing and moaning about JC3, for whatever reason it really pissed me off, but as I played more and more I realized how improved it was over JC2 (still a fantastic game) and now I can't stop playing. I love the added complexity, additional vehicles, especially the ocean going ones that can carry vehicles, the improved grapple and now useful stronger grapple lines can be in stragety of getting things done. I actually started a brand new game after getting to the big island only because I wanted to apply what I had learned in the earlier parts of the game and I didn't want to begin the later part of the game, didn't want it to end. This is one of those games I know I will hate to finish. The only thing I really dislike is forced challenges, those can really get annoying BUT they can also be fun, I just don't like the forced nature of them in JC3.

Have fun!

Hey, I saw your post on how to restore jc3 save files but cannot seem to do it right. Each time I do it and start the game. It keeps putting me at the very beginning of the game. Can you please help? Thanks!
