For example I want to have numpad 0 and numpad enter for primary and secondary fire when using a plane and just the normal mouse 1 & 2 for every other vehicle. You cant do that! And you can't bind a separate button for using nitrous and jump boost, it forces it to be the same button, you just hold down it for nitrous and tap for jump boost, causing you to sometimes accidentally jump boost when you just wanted a short burst of nitrous. As a result I dont equip jump boost at all, great "fix", eh?
Thank god at least on-foot controls and vehicle controls are separate.
Is there a file somewhere where you can properly rebind the keys by editing it?
"C:\Users\USERNAME HERE\Documents\Square Enix\Just Cause 3\Saves
Then go to the folder with the really really long number
Inside open kepmap.txt"
Not sure if that helps at all
That did the trick.
It also confirmed there being a single keybind for every vehicles fire primary and fire secondary.
Luckily the game supports binding multiple different keys to the same action via editing the file. So now every single vehicles primary fire is numpad 0 AND mouse 1.
No idea what the hell went wrong there but it's sad, it could be SO much more fun with vehicles but if you play with KBM (because aiming with a gamepad is horrible, for me atleast) then half of the time you will have a bad time because of the controls.
Bikes are the worst, the last time I've seen such bad handling was in Midnight Club 2 and that game is over a decade old, but even cars are hard to drive with the steering that is first hardly turning at all and then suddenly turning faster and faster.
I wish the handling would be like in TrackMania, you have so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much control, response and precision there and that WITH THE KEYBOARD!
Oh and turning a tank turret with the mouse is also fun, I can throw it 10 times across the table before I got that turned behind me..... the hell?!
