At the end of the game it had told me sandbox mode had unlocked but there does not seem to be an option to toggle it, am I just an idiot or does some else know any info on what this sandbox mode is or does and how to activate.

Sandbox mode means free roam which is maily refering to: re-oppress any settlements/bases to recapture/blow stuff up any time you want. That's pretty much all there is. You just select a settlement/base and there will be a new option to re-oppress and fast travel to it.

I wasn't aware of this. So you're saying that you can basically reset the settlements and take them back again? That's cool. :D

so you need to pick every base one by one to reoppress? cant you just press reoppress all or something?

Would be very nice if you could reset the lot.. I suspect not though... (I don't actually know). Still replaying the odd base would be fun for awhile at least. Maybe you can manually reset th lot if you can't do a global reset?

Saddly there is no "master reset" or list. It's just strictly free roam to get acheivements and selecting the base/town you want to re-capture by the map.

I might have went though the game too fast? Though I felt like i took my time. I pretty much liberated everything before finishing 40% of the story missions (though that's not saying much >.> ) Now i'm just waiting for the expansion...

I am intending to 100% every single challenge before completing the final mission. I've already grabbed all the collectibles. I'm not normally such of a completionist!

Anyway my son finished the main campaign a little earlier today. He pointed out that you can (it seems) reset each base (and probably settlement) manually on the map without actually destroying each one.. Hopefully the game saves the status of each area so you can run round the whole thing (I assume) which should end up with a kind of full reset which saves. Maybe ;)

what you said with the re-oppress thing does that count for xbox too?
I completed it on xbox and doesnt show the re-opress option
at the end of the game, Sandbox mode is unlocked, this dosen't mean you can place those awesome sphere tanks anywhere you want, it means you can re-opress towns and bases so you can nuke them again.

No not really only the FOW's are tied to the story
I liberated Falco Maxime Centcom even when the bavarium Nuke was active it took me 30 minutes but even when the base is liberated and you can fasttravel to it the FOW Will remain active until you completed the mission
Oh and just to help you a little bit let the bavarium Nuke destroy Everything for you

I found the solution you have to be inside friendly territory to re-oppres anything

It just resets the FOW base to it's default state (without the FOW though obviously (tower comes back into existance), and when you finish liberating it again it goes back to how should be.

OK I had no idea about that. I thought things like the FOW were tied to story missions and the bases couldn't be set to red again..

They can, as I said though it does not reset their respective mission or the FOW, it just resets the base till you conquer it again.
