Game won't quit.

Everytime i quit the game i can choose to restart my pc or wait for 10 min. The games just goes black when i press exit to windows and the this weird sound keeps repeating itself like something flying by. It's the sound that appears when you click on something in the menu i think. It's really annoying cuz i wanna get out of the game and then i have to restart my pc.

Ofc i tried that none of them worked. As i told you the screen is just black. I can get to the task manager but i can't get the job list up on my screen.

If your refering the scenario where you can see the taskbar only but everything else is black, try setting the option in Task Manager to be 'Always On Top'. If you know your keyboard shortcuts you can enable that option even when stuck. This will allow Task Manager to be ontop of the frozen black screen. You can then end the process.

I know this is an old thread but I'm still having the same problem. When I try to exit to windows (Win 7) I get a mouse cursor and a black screen. Cannot access the desktop with Alt+Tab or get to task manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Only solution is to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and then choose task manager.

"End Process" closes the game window, which gets me to the desktop, but JustCause3.exe keeps running in the background. I've tried killing the process from command line and a couple of different task killer programs and no luck. Logging off does not close the program. Only a full restart kills it.

Haha this sure is an old thread. When you open your task manager you should be able to find JustCause3.exe under processes, either under apps or backgroundprocesses. Exiting it through there should work :)

I should have made it more clear in my reply. I tried "End Process" in Task Manager first. It closes the app's window but leaves the actual process running in the background. It still shows as "Running" in Steam as well. I tried two different process killer programs and neither work.

Only way I have found to solve all the problems with this game is to uninstall the *^^*^er.

I created a shortcut to JustCause3.exe on my desktop, and although that opens Steam in the background, I haven't had any trouble closing the game since opening it that way.

If I open Steam first, then open the game from my library, the game's process will not terminate.

I'll update if this changes, but it seems to be a problem with having the Steam window open when closing the game that causes the process to lock up and refuse to close.

Huh. That's strange. I have the exact same problem, but with a lot of games. But I'm able to find it under backgroundprocesses in the task manager (Not apps, backgroundprocesses can be found if "more information" is clicked in task manager) In my case it seems to be because the executable file for some reason gets tasked to run in the background when I close it instead of just closing the whole game. I usually just end it under backgroundprocesses and voila, my Steam is back to "online" status instead of playing and I am able to launch other games again. I hope you figure out how to fix it.
