I just checked it out yesterday, I found out that lava hurts you in game, but doesn't disintegrate your body, so that's alright. Also at the right time of the day/night cycle you can get some SWEET screenshots of the ruins and ♥♥♥♥. I love the atmosphere in JC3.

also the Boom Island is useless (bottom left corner of map), its just a offroad track with about 4 buggies parked around it.
