But, I do think they could have used better on screen indicators instead of going for the mini map. The things you need to destroy and enemies could be highlighted in a better manor, or something like that, hell I'm not a game designer.
Though it does rub the wrong way having those stupid leaderboard messages pop up if they were so concerned with the immersive nature of their hud. They are so immersion breaking I can't play with them, I had to make the firewall block JC3 from the internet. Bad JC3, no internet for you!
lol as if the minimaps gonna help any of this, and you realize people remember dayz's map
Now this I understand. On the map, it does show you where the last thing to destroy is, but its hard to interprete sometimes. Is that generator above me? Below me? Hidden in a cave with the entrance on the other side of the base?
Is it right on the other side of a wall that I just happened to miss? Perhaps, when there is only one thing left in a base, it should highlight just like the flag does.
EDIT. Yeah I was correct. Morrowind has a mini-map! Not needed in JC3 though...
Funny that I signed in just to comment on this post. I get it, people don't want their hands held, but put the feature in and let the user decide if they want it on or not. I played Morrowind and would have enjoyed it very much if it weren't for being such a freaking pain trying to find where you were to go just based on some general comments from people. I actually used an interactive map and cheat codes to free up everything on the map so I had a clue where to go.
I like maps, markers, arrows pointing me where to go. Now, I can live without the mini map, but I want to select a location on the map and have a nice arrow pointing me in the direction I have to go. I want it to tell me how far I have to go.
I want it to tell me where my health stands rather than just turn the screen red, or black/white or slow the character down...so I know exactly where it stands.
I want it to show me how many bullets I have, grenades, etc.
I want to be able to set the difficulty to something I like. I play most games like this on easy or normal...why? Cuase I don't find enjoyment doing a mission and dying and doing the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over again cause you die cause it's on hardcore or whatever.
I just enjoy playing the game, doing missions and dying occassionally but it's not like they give you medals cause you can tell people "I beat it on hardcore..." Whoppity do dah.
They should have all options avaiable and the player can decide what they want on their hud, what they don't want.
Imagine how retarded would having a minimap that keeps adding dots behind you be.
It's also not like you're gonna kill everyone and move on, as they respawn instantly, which brings us to the health bar. Everything goes white, grapple up and fly around until it's back on technicolor, That's the health bar.
Lulz.
I DO NOT OWN THIS GAME...I am looking at getting it when it drops drastically in price and I always read reviews, watch videos and ask questions. Thus I am asking.
Does this game feature a device that shows when you are close to a resource item or collectable I guess.
The lack of a minimap had not hurt my enjoyment of the game in the slightest.
If they added one, I would disable it.
I don't like the timers either, I was embarassed to admit this, but I only re-opress areas without them :)
IKR what a concept, an open world game where you discover for yourself and get your own bearings!
Makes me laugh how spoon fed people are these days.
I don't get why some people actually play at all, they should just watch 'lets play' vids on youtube and then they won't need to think for themselves at all.
