Just Cause 3 tether release problem

I'm getting the prompt that I can press B to release tethers, but I can only trigger a melee attack. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm playing via Controller on Steam, using a 360 controller and adapter.

You have to hit LT and press B, bit unintuitive, just like not being able to drop off straight from the wingsuit with 1 button.

Yes (on gamepad). I also can't use the keyboard controls because half the rebinds won't work. Bind spacebar to ascend in a helicopter, it gets out every time. (even though I rebound exit to E) So really some buttons don't work right on both gamepad and keyboard...

I agree with you but you can unlock this on the gear mods

with air brake, still not as useful as tapping "B" to disembark like the parachute, lots of little things in this game feel counterintuitive, going against many things in JC2, and dont flow well together, No sprint when the left thumb stick has no other use, two reticles overlapping eachother when aiming down sights, yatta yatta, grumble grumble
