Broken Crash Bomb Challenge

The Crash Bomb Challenge "Laguna Blast" is completely broken. The car always explodes 10 meters before reaching the cars which are meant to blow up. Getting all five gears is nearly impossible.

I had a similar problem with another side mission, Where you tether a baravium magnet to a vehicle and drive it around supposedly to pick up these green & blue rocks, But it does nothing and buttons etc. don't seem to do anything either. It just doesn't attract rocks.

With Xbox controller you have to press LB to activate it.

the worst is when you DO reach them, and it even explodes. but you get 0 bonus points for it. that one is bugged as hell.

Oh man, I thought I was doing something wrong the whole time. It really seems to be bugged. Same thing happens to me that happened to OP :\

Yeah, I'm still not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's really bugged but I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I've spent about 30 minutes getting this stupid challenge which should be done within a minute. I tried coming from multiple angles but it just keeps exploding right before the cars. I was able to get one jeep there to explode but I still couldn't reach the 19000(?) points for the fifth gear. I just gave up at that point.

i managed to get the fifth gear, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it was close. before you even get in the car hook up a teather and retract it as your entering then disconnect just as the engine starts for a litle boost. then follow the LEFT through town, thread the needle between the two farmhouses and down onto the beach. if you keep your speed up and land right you can shave enough time off to do it. felt like it helped switching to a controller for that one too

I had a hell of a time getting 5 gears, it took a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of tries. What helped me was bailing out of the vehicle earlier. If you bail too late the vehicle randomly explodes. If you bail at the right time and the right angle it should net you 19000 points (assuming you hauled ass and didn't hit anything). Not sure if it is a bug or poor design, but it seems like if you bail too late or from the wrong angle the vehicle just randomly blows the ♥♥♥♥ up and doesn't do anything.

i done this 5gears.at first i also thought its a bug but i think a tank hits you. anyway how i done? i approached from shore, didnt use road. everytime i used road , the car exploded asap after leaving vehicle.

that tank or chopper must hidden very well, i m sure enemies can call tank/chopper in these missions, and you mostly see them when they fire, but not in this mission.

anyway just head to shore when you see fuel station. you can turn to shore from there without stucking anything or losing much time.

It's also doable from the road, just if you bail to late or at the wrong angle it's gonna explode too early and do no damage.

Had the same problem as you, but i find a way to do it almost everytime.
Stay on the road, and bail out at the second last streetlight. Drive left from the streetlight and be sure to exit the vehicle with "E" and not with "Space". My car always explodes when exiting with space.

Going past the gas sation and hitting the rock on the left side while ejecting, did it for me.
Never did get the 2nd lamppost path working at al.

This is just rediculous. I have tried both from the road and shore as suggested and seen in videos, but for some reason I can't get more than 900 blast damage points. I hit the flat bed, I hit the small jeeps on both ends. Nothing seems to do enough damage.

I also am enjoying the invisible wall and when your vehicle hits the target and explodes, but the challenge failed because the vehicle was destroyed. I'm sure glad none of these "features" were fixed by the developer because games are much more fun when you're frustrated and angry.

Alas I will no longer be buying future games from this developer because I have to spend all my money on anger management therapy.
