Act 3 - Rico and the Rose, cant catch jets.

in the first mission of act 3 "Rico and the Rose" the mission start with a jet and you must protect a plane that is 1.7km from you, even at full speed your jet cant catch up to it and the enemy jets that are coming in kill the plane very quickly.
please tell me if Im missing something or its a bug and how to fix.
(exiting the jet and grappling to an enemy jet cause a mission failure because you left the jet.)

solution : turn off precision aim mod until a patch release. then you can use lock-on for every kind of rocket launcher.

the point of all these post is to let people know its not a one person thing, and wouldnt a massive game like have already had fixed such a bad bug? i mean this thread started on the second, at the time of my post its the 27th, and it still doesnt work.

I don't even HAVE precision aim unlocked in the first place so 1. it can't be on, and 2. even if it was on I can't turn it OFF.
STILL NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOCKS.
Also, How the F*** is a PROP plane faster than a JET?
If it's to make the mission interesting, FFS tone it down a bit, the plane doesn't need to be strapped to a Saturn V!
If I have to stay at full throttle to be able to "slowly" catch up, that's balanced IMHO.
As it is I keep falling behind even with the throttle maxed.
Just make the plane I have to escort go 340 km/h so I can at least keep up? But fix the missiles, most importantly.

I'd say the whole point of that mission is to get the player to use a plane that can lock on to missiles.
From what i know i havent had any actual JustCause 3 updates since this issue, so i think the only way to get around it is to turn of precision aim as a whole and restart the game, at least until then dont have it activated.
Honestly even then the rockets dont always lock on so i can see how it may be frustrating, but until the devs actually look into it, we'll all have to just play as it is and work around it.

Launching the game through Big Picture was what fixed it for me. not the Precision Aim mod.

despite how game breaking this may seem, it is in fact possible without either. because the enemy jets go past you until they reach rosa's plane, and you are faster than rosa's plane, you CAN catch up to them. you will find using your machine gun very helpful unless you can predict the enemy's movements with perfect accuracy. i completed the mission with the same bug. adds a little bit of difficulty. It will take a couple of tries.

If the rockets dont auto lock turn off precision aim and restart the game. After the mission you can enable precision aim again.

YEA! What he said! I fought with this until I realized you have to have the reticle on a jet then it will lock on. I almost broke my keyboard in frustration!

i finally made the mission it has nothing to do with precision aim u just have to get there as fast u can and try to take out 2 jets then u will make it
