Windows Defender reporting a trojan

Hi

Just pre-loaded Just cause 3 and my windows defender informed me of a trojan called "win32/dynamer!ac" in folder/file "\Steam\steamapps\downloading\388800\exe\gv_win.exe"

Any idea what this is about ?

I don't have that file, so I would guess it's either for another game or you got a lil' ol' viral infekshun mah boy!

Windows defender is really good for reporting false positives, its also really good at downloading patches and deleting files from them without warning.

Could be a virus but it didnt come from steam.

I would get rid of that immediately if that is the case. It slows down the overall performance of your PC, spam files will appear in your PC and pop-up ads will appear more frequently. I cannot make this crap up even if i tried. That website gives tips on removing it and what it can do if not removed

well, no idea where the trojan could have come otherwise since i wasn't doing anything else at the time. Could be a false positive. Did say it was quarantined and the downloading folder was completely empty.

well if you sport windows 10 you got cortana which is much more than just a virus and interactive Manager it is much more if you care about such stuff! try to remove this ..... no chance !
