You can perform them with any kind of vehicle.

If you complete all daredevil jumps (as they are called) on a island you get a vehicle as reward

Some of those jumps are pretty sweet. Remember, a TRUE Rico would ride the roof of the car during the jump....just sayin.

I have driven over a few of these ramps, and sometimes it registered, and sometimes not.

are there any other requirements?
vehicle, speed?
vehicle must (not) survive, may (not) leave vehicle?

In my experience, you need to stay in the vehicle until you see the message flash on the screen that the jump was registered. That usually happens while you are still in the air so you don't have to ride the vehicle into a crash unless it is a very short jump. If you bail before that message, it will not register.
