A ton of practice. You might find it easier with a controller. Some of them will be way harder than others

i am close to raging on a few of them...:MMDead:

If you're early in the game, you'll find wingsuit challenges very difficult. If you do enough and get enough gears, the upgrades will make the wingsuit a lot easier to use then go back to the challenges and clean up.

Yeah, don't go for 5 gears at the start. Do like 3 or so gears on a run and then move on. Doing it long enough might help and will get upgrades. Honestly, just ask yourself if the upgrade you want will be worth it cause it is kind of a grind to get some of those upgrades.

I find them incredibly easy sometimes but I use an xbox elite controller and I have hours of practice with the wingsuit, my advice is to crank on some music and just cruise around medici for a while, you will get the hang of it.

Some of them are much, MUCH harder to get 5-Gears on than others. The... ah, Monte Dracon(?) course stands out to me: multiple routes and as far as I could tell, none of them would net you the required 75,000 score even if you got flawless perfects all the way through - you could, however, backtrack up the mountain and snag a few of the rings on a nearby route to the one you wanted to end up on. Tricky, but entirely possible.

About the only mod for Wingsuiting that really changes things in terms of maneuverability/more options is, in my opinion, the Wingsuit Brakes. Note - do NOT take the next mod along that pops you out of Wingsuit after braking. With just the Wingsuit brakes, you can basically hover in mid-air and change your direction at will. Yes, you lose a bunch of speed, so you don't want to be too close to the ground when you do it, but it can be pretty useful.

I don't use the airbrake and I'm pretty good at wingsuiting. Here's why I don't like it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCS7-SewPjU
And if you doubt my wingsuit credentials check this:

Practice is the main way to improve. Maybe take part in the recent JC3 COMMUNITY CHALLENGE to help improve your skills. See: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/JC3OFF/discussions/0/458604254459246243/

Some excellent points in your vids, though the real game-changer is what I completely failed to mention: The Mid-Grapple Re-Grapple mod, or whatever it's called. That renders most of the quick-grappling hindrances associated with the Wingsuit Brake at least partially moot.

That said, it is still totally situational, and there are most likely more situations where you WOULDN'T want it than ones where you WOULD. Once I got the Wingsuit-To-Grapple mod, I felt that Wingsuiting became a lot less tricky, at least on the overworld. The Courses can still be somewhat tricky, but as mentioned, practice helps a lot, as does straight-up rote memorization.

Honestly, I think I have a harder time with some of the Land and Sea vehicle courses than anything else, now that I have a bunch of hours under my belt.

I tried the first three I encountered and cannot get more than 1 gear....

yea the wingsuit challenges are definately the hardest I barely get 4 gears on some of them
Kestrel May 4, 2019 @ 12:49pm
Well, I did all the challenges now, and managed to get 7/20 gears with the bavarium suit and 24 of 135 with the normal one. It's just not working for me. Four gears? That would be a dream...

I'll keep using helis and the trusty parachute, much faster anyway.

You need a very good depth perception. If its any consolation, you dont need to do every challange, they are optional.

Not if you're going for achievements.

I found a controller to be key. Also subtle movements are what's really required a lot of times. Just kind of push Rico gently, don't try and pull him to the next red circle. Finally I rarely grapple in them, technically they are designed to where you don't need to grapple at all. However it does make some of them easier, if you do it in an open enough area.
