If this happens to you, be sure to check both save locations. The game sometimes randomly decides to stop looking for your savegame in Documents/Square Enix and start looking in Documents/My Games/Square Enix instead. When you open the game it looks like all progress was lost, but the save file is actually fully intact. Look for the two files and copy the one with the date of your last play session when you still had your save into the location of the newer one (back that one up first just to be sure). Potentially it could also be mixing up My Documents folders from different users on the device, like your personal account and a useless "all users" based folder.
