I suppose it also depends on how much time you have on your hands, for the amount of time you are going to have to put in to play if properly (if you are aiming to finish it etc) I would say you are better off playing a more recent game.
It is not going to give you any excitement or experience that you wont get from simply playing 2 onwards. If you have little time on your hands, I would even suggest you could skip 2. Though not 3. (for me I think 3 is currently the best just cause, I rank it higher than 4.)
If you have an older computer that could not run a more modern just cause, then one would still do the job.
also the grappling gun allows you to park a helicopter in the air, hop out, do what you need to, and then grapple back up to it. I cant quite remember which but i think military bases were WAY too easy to clear so long as you had an attack helicopter too.
just cause 2 kicks the ♥♥♥♥ out of just cause 1 in EVERY way. And 3 does the same thing as 2. also with just cause 3, get the DLC. you will thank yourself later, the DLC brings extreme changes to the gameplay allowing for increased flexibility and more destructive power. the combination of the bavarium wingsuit with is weapons, and the eden spark weapon really changes the game.
