What's with the horrible blur of the steam overlay etc.?

JC 3 looks dreadful. I'm on max settings and when i saw the first achievement pop up, i felt sick. So blurry and opening the steam overlay confirmed it too.

I installed the game today, tried the "borderless/windowed" fix, to no avail. Any help?

My specs:
i7 6700k
GTX 970
16 GB RAM

Did you use Geforce Experience to optimize settings? It could set game's resolution higher than your monitors(Nvidia DSR technology) which in turn would cause blurry overlay text.

Long story short, check your game's resolution.

Resolution is native, GE/Nvidia settings are on default. I restarted for the third time now and it magically fixed the blur.

Now i'm stuck with some shadow flickering though. I'm glad i found JC3 for 20€ at a local store. Otherwise i'd be pissed about the performance

game runs fine. i have a similar rig as yours. turn off global illuminations... it causes shadow flickers that you're seeing. also, run the game with "Full Screen Mode" disabled in the game settings. then go to steam library and right click on Just Cause 3 > properties > set launch commands

use these launch commands -

/borderless /windowed

this will give you smooth fps when Vsync is enabled. the game plays completely perfect on my 970 paired with an i7 4790k 16gbs ram.

Cheers on the global illumination stuff. Fixed the flickering.

And i already enabled the borderless/windowed launch command. It runs like a charm indeed.

this indeed is terrible. i tried disabling windows clear text or whatever it's called, but that didn't work either
