How fast is the Bavarium Wingsuit?
Is it comparable to planes? After I buy the dlcs, I want to perform awesome stunts like catching cargo plane while in the air or getting into falling vehicles. But I don't know if it's fast enough

It can get to the speed of a plane if you use mods

You mean the gear mods?

No, I mean like modding, changing files, etc.

It will catch trains, cars and boats, but not planes.

On official wikia it is said that you can hijack the cargo planes which appear above some bases by using the Bavarium Wingsuit so I believe it is possible, maybe after I upgrade the boosters with gear mods

My recollection is that the cargo planes are encountered in two base takeovers, two main story missions and in a cuople of takeover/missions within the Land DLC. I've never encountered them randomly

Where you do see them, you can close up to them if they are flying at right angles or towards you, but I've never tried to grapple and commandeer them. I have tried chasing them down from behind and you do not have sufficient speed to catch them, even with all gear mods. You can easily shoot them down with the Bavarium Wingsuit if you are within range

You can't go as fast as a cargo plane, but if you fly straight up before it passes you, you could probably catch up to a cargo plane. Other than that, the Bavarium Wingsuit is amazing. I really don't know how I'd live without it (probably because I bought the bundle with the dlc on sale and never have tried living without it). While still worse than a helicopter or a plane, It's really useful if you don't want to go find one for travelling long (or short) distances. Also there's a built in machine gun, and missiles.

FWIW, I gave it a shot and could not commandeer the cargo plane in flight. I reopressed the Griphon air base and started a takeover which brings out the cargo plane delivering paratroopers. I know it comes from the east, so I made sure to fly towards it as soon as it's arrival is announced. I popped the parachute directly in front it and tried to grapple, but it would not catch even though the grapple recticle was directly over the plane. Tried it three times and gave up.

If you're wanting to do this just because it would be cool to accomplish, give it a shot and maybe you can get it to work. However, if all you want is the plane in your inventory, this won't work. The only way to unlock it is to take over Falco Maxime: Centcom.

Ok thanks then. I will try to catch falling vehicles instead
