As you can see, I spent 27 hours in the demo and I did not get past the church. That is the amount of game breaking bugs that I encountered. There are sometimes people who have a bit of dev experience themselves and know where to look for stuff to go wrong. I don't even want to know the amount of times I restarted. But since the demo is for "a peek at the game" and "getting feet wet", I won't bother to post those bugs. You can find them in the early access and waif for a fix...
So the biggest challenge is not only to survive, get food and keep warm, its about waiting for the next crash....
Now i keep jittery hold out for the AE. And of course i buy it!
This game has been running since yesterday morning. I haven't closed it so I don't lose my progress.
I came to bring up other bugs. but none that prevent the game from running. that has to be system related. I've even run other Next Fest demos over it, and it's still going.
I absolutely agree with everyone, it's a tiny little map, a sliver of the game. a save feature isn't going to hurt anything, I'd love to close this damn thing and see if that can fix my bug! because at this point, I can NOT finish the story missions without starting over, the game has a flaw that it can't recover from!
fatal gamedev L. I probably wont buy the game if I dont see an autosave feature for the demo soon.
I did not see that in a single game. Today I tried multiplayer alone. And there were deers which I did not see in single player either and I saw the sign to backpack.
Thx for reply. I hate this mechanic in games. This type of games is not for my taste. The items got broken too fast, chopped 3 trees, 2 rocks, broken. Freezing all the time even if you sit near the fire. Day-night circle terribly short. Deers run away, does not matter if you crouch or do not. They only can be killed if you shoot to the neck.
Personage needs eat and sleep constantly. Most of time I spent on chopping trees and rocks.
I made tribal pants but I did not get them. Supposedly picked them on workbench but they were not in inventory.
I reached to the mission My traders. Went there, too cold and died. Another main quest "Meet people ... ", escaped from bear and died again because was too cold. How suppose to do these quests ? Not sure if there was a way around to get to the traders. I gave up. Already was too tired of dying and chopping the trees.
I constructed the shelter. No way to enter fine through the door, jumping, jumping as rabbit at the entrance...well, finally got inside. The base foundation was not high of course. OMG.
You can not make campfire on the snow, you must make the base of wood first.
Also I thought that the dog will be the companion. But not, he does not follow. What the point then ? Just to use his backpack as storage ?
I did exactly the same as you, but I didn't have any problems.
On the contrary, everything worked wonderfully.
I'm sure you were just too tired, as you wrote yourself.
About the game:
RSS are used up too quickly (wood in the fire), objects break too quickly.
The camera in buildings is very confusing.
Otherwise, great graphics and good gameplay.
Great, keep it up
Even though it's a demo, it's a real shame that there's no save point. :-(
I played it for 2 hours and won't continue playing now because i can't save.
You write that you only had the choice of a demo without savegame or no demo. Really? No demo then - or is this decision a foretaste of bad development?
Don't get me wrong - I really liked the gameplay - but there is NOTHING to justify such a decision!
Maybe they will take the comments of potential customers seriously and allow saving in the demo?
Let's wait for the release... and hope for the best.
