Permafrost

THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH PERMAFROST
I played a bit of the demo and the game looks amazing. I'm talking like 10/10 graphics, it plays well, it has clean UI and even the AI voices sound GREAT. But the problem is that there is almost zero immersion.

The 3rd person camera just doesn't feel as great as the rest of the game does. It sits too far back from the character and to high up. I'm constantly being reminded that I'm playing a video game rather than getting lost in the world when I'm squinting at my screen trying to shoot a deer. In the Demo there is no option to adjust FOV or camera height/angle and I hope that the game isn't going to ship like this. in a 1x4 base I was constantly having issues with the camera clipping through the wall or ceiling just to place down a few candles and a bench not to mention how immersion breaking it is to walk into a building and have to find the exact perfect spot to stand so that you can see everything without the camera clipping .

I've also seen the devs address my next concern which is adding a First Person perspective and they said they'd make no promised but it was a firm maybe.

I think we need to move from a firm maybe to them announcing that YES that game will have 1st Person available.

This would address most of the camera clipping issues and would be a pretty "cheap" quality of life addition to the game, even if you could only do basic functions like placing items down or looting.

I wouldnt say that its an immersion breaker, but to have different options is always a benefit. Im sure they will add it

It may be that the absence of the ego perspective is a disadvantage. But just assume that the developer wants to take a different approach than the other 100 survival and collecting simulations on Steam. Then I would rather support a functional 3rd person than a bad 1st person simulation.

Yeah. Make it 1st person and 3rd person please. It is just camera play to be honest and not very complicated. Look at Ghost Recon Wildlands. A modder made that game sooooo much better by making a 1st person camera mod.
