Tomb Raider custom levels
Tomb Raider level editor, custom levels offer a variety of refreshing, cleverly designed levels that you can download for free. I strongly recommend trying out some levels to supplement your core design experience.

I would personally recommend Experiment 3: Budapest, Frozen Past and Jungle Ruins 3.
The levels are as good as core design's Tomb Raider games. Perhaps even better.

Any links to the best ones? I currently just have TR1 Revised and TRA Retold. (Peru only as the other locations were never finished)

The hall of fame page has links to all the best levels: http://hof.trle.net/

My favourites:

Frozen Past: http://www.trle.net/sc/levelfeatures.php?lid=2796
Jungle Ruins 3: http://www.trle.net/sc/levelfeatures.php?lid=1378
Experiment Budapest: http://www.trle.net/sc/levelfeatures.php?lid=1591

Don't forget to change the resolution before you play.

Uh huh, I might prefer TR3 trles, but saying TR4 trles are worthless just because they're made in TR4 means you're disrespecting the authors. For example you'd call King Arthur Project trash just because it's tr4, but I bet the devs at least spent a year to make it. Think about what you're saying.

I never played King Arthur Project, how was it?

The best TRLE. The only bad thing is that ~4 audio tracks are terribly sampled. A guy called Badassgamez made a walkthrough where he collects all items/all secrets and it took him around 15 hours to get through the game, so if you're going in blind, like you should, expect AT LEAST 50 hours of gameplay. Though if you're going to play it, remove everything from the "PIX" folder, or else you might get an issue where you can't save/load your game.

Are there any other people here who have played some of the custom levels? If yes, which one?

Does anyone know how to install these custom levels?

1. Download
2. Extract
3. run tomb4.exe or tomb3.exe

To change resolution - Right click on the tomb4.exe. Then create a shortcut. Right click on the shortcut and click onto properties. Go to Target and write at the end (first make a space) the word -setup. Than double click onto the shortcut and that's it.

But most of them already have a setup shortcut and / or always bring up the setup screen when you execute the vanilla tomb4.exe for the first time.

Where do I extract them? Do they over-write normal Tomb Raider levels?

No, you extract them where you want to. You're not downloading just the level files, you're downloading a full game without the main levels. However, SOME may require you to replace the original game but that will be written in the .zip / .rar file most likely in the readme.txt
