Getting stuck on Mt Rockmore

When I climb the Horn Tower to customize Mt Rockmore, the controls for customization show up. It says 4 and 3 keys to select heads, LMB to swap, Esc to cancel. Okay, none of those keys do anything. Except for Esc, which brings up the pause menu instead of exiting customization. I can move the light beam cursor from one head to another but that's it. The game remains stuck in customization mode.

I get the same thing except esc also exits the customization screen and returns me to normal play.

That will be fixed in the next patch. The correct button keys are A and D. Sorry!

EDIT: oops, now it's working, sorta. Just press 'e', although there are no prompts on the screen and it goes back into change-face mode.

I'm not stuck, but I can't even get the damn thing to work again. It worked fine the first time I went up onto the Horn Thrower, but now that I've bought many more effigies, I want to change them....and I can't. Go to the top of the Horn Thrower and absolutely nothing happens. Eddie just stands there, no prompts, no nothing. Weird.

I still have the problem that ESC does not bring me back to the game. The rest works: Face swapping and so on... So the bug is not totally fixed! ;)

I just installed the game last week and still have the arrow keys for switching heads stated there although they do not work and ESC also only gives me the game menu.

Has this been fixed two years ago not then broken again later?

BTW: I can swap by moving my mouse.

Thanks for your answer but that was not a question but a hint for everyone who is still struggling there.

Oh, and I just remapped the Pause action to 'P' in the contol settings and now I can press 'ESC' there without a problem.

Stupid half-assed console -> PC porting. :/
Good for them that the game is so much fun anyway. ;)

Once you have the light beam on a head, press enter, that will change the carving.
