Step 1: find the .fsb files in Program Files -> Steam -> SteamApps -> common -> Brutal Legend -> Audio

Step 2: Download " Game extractor " from :

http://pcsupport.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=pcsupport&cdn=compute&tm=27&f=00&su=p284.13.342.ip_&tt=65&bt=4&bts=4&zu=http%3A/www.watto.org/extract/info.html

Step 3: ?

Step 4: Profit.

I have a solution other than that complicated thing. Whenever the game starts a song when you're in the car, it shows the name of the song and the artist in the botton left hand corner.
Example:

Road Racin'
by Riot

Then, you can just look up the song on YouTube.

that's not going to pull the files out of the game so i can throw them in my ipod.

Well, there might be some of the songs on iTunes.
Slagathor Jun 28, 2014 @ 4:58pm
Yeah, I know my way is way more complicated but:

SPOILERS ---- SPOILERS ----- SPOILERS

This way you can get even the music/dialog designed specificaly for the game.
Even If you want to hear yourself betray Ophelia EVEN TOUGH YOU GAVE HER YOUR PENDANT AND SWORE TO TRUST HER NO MATTER WHAT !!!
Sorry, I just can't get past that.

Really ? I'm sorry, I posted a link to first thing I could find that could handle .fsb files.
Anyway, just find any editor that let you work with this kind of files and you should be fine.
There are many called fsb extractors, pick one you feel comfortable with. ; )

maybe the developers managed to mantain the costs low by not giving the songs in the druid plow separately from the game... if they would make a compilation, that would cost waaaay to much... I think.

I just realized that 108 songs is like 6-8 CDs O_O

How about learn the band names and buy the tracks?
Look, not trying to sound like a duche, but if you like the music that much you can show support to the bands and drop a few quid. ;)

except i've already done that by buying this game at full price. they've already taken their piece from me because of copyright distribution.

they don't need my generosity a second time.

That's not the way copyright works. Doublefine licensed the music, not us. We were granted a license for the game only and that does not entitle us to the music tracks.

That said, it appears that all the tools you need are here http://www.fmod.org/download/ Fmod Studio should do the trick. You'd have to manually name every track you ripped and it appears that you'll (probably) have to do quite a few manual things to get individual tracks out of the Music_Licensed_x.fsb files.

This post contains all the songs/artists in Brutal Legend.
