Controller Mapping

I've seen a few threads about controller mapping in this game, but none of the existing ones really get at my issues, and the solutions there don't solve it.

I'm looking to see if someone knows how to fix the very frustrating controller setup for this game. I'm using a PS4 controller and am running DS4Windows. I also have been trying to use Big Picture as well but it hasn't solved my issues. While many games will just use a PS4 controller just fine, this one won't.

I've gotten many things working, but I'm still seeing two issues.
1) This is the big issue... I cannot get Double Team to work. There doesn't seem to be a button binding for it, and it's telling me that it's the same button as my primary (axe) attack. But pressing that button when next to a viable unit (with the double team symbol visible) does nothing but a regular axe attack, and holding it down just does the charged axe attack.
2) Perhaps related to the above, it seems that many controls that are bound to the same button but should be contextual are not. For instance, binding both a Deuce weapon and handbrake to the same button will activate both. I wonder if it can't properly override?

i don´t know if this is too late for you but i had the same problem and found this solution without useing DS4Windows:

Steam has built-in support for the PS4 controller. Go to Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings. Make sure Playstation Configuration Support is checked.
You can also change the button layout from Xbox to Playstation. First, locate your Brutal Legend Config folder inside your Steam Library. The path would be something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BrutalLegend\Data\Config. Open the Buddha.cfg using notepad, and add the following at the end on a separate line:

sDefaultControllerIcons = "PS3"

for mapping i got;
X = axe attack (primary attack)
▢ = guitar attack (secondary attack)
△ = interact
〇 = Block
