#1 yeah the driving controls suck i'm stuck at the part after the tower of pleasure because #1 the games lagging like crazy during it #2 the car gets stuck on every EVERY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing #3 the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bleeding deaths block you in and instant kill you forcing you to start from the beginning it's stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
anyone know a way to skip past these parts?
please let me know i like the game otherwise.
Edit: I did beat the game a few times (ps3, xbox 360)
But then again that part can be cheesed because the game treats landing hard after jumping off a mountain and hitting a small bump in the road as equal amounts of damage.
So there's a relatively safe shortcut for you to take.
But then again I probably got over my hate towards that mission very fast because there was one game that had much harder missions in that same style and it had FOUR of them in the main story.
worked for me
You may get used it after some free roaming around the world.
I get what you're saying. Driving is definitely a little wonky with a controller, takes some getting used to b/c the stick is so sensitive. When I started playing, I had the same problems. A little rock on the side of road would send me flying off track and over a cliff. By the end of the game, I won't say it was perfect, but I could handle myself through the turns anyway. You get used to it in time. Not sure if the mouse sensitivity options would change anything for the controller inputs, but you could try it out and see if it helps.
As for enemy headbangers, just run 'em over! In fact, barring larger creatures like the bear trap mouth things, I don't bother trying to avoid critters/people in my path. Friendlies will be OK, enemies and roadkill will be dead. Quest NPCs are immovable, so you need to avoid them, but they're usually not standing in the middle of road anyway.
Yes and no. There are a few driving missions later on, but they aren't really that hard. You can afford to fall behind somewhat if you need to in order to keep control (I was playing on Normal FYI.) There was only one really challenging driving mission IMO (you'll know it when you get to it) but even that one I was able to beat, second try.
The racing quests are hard AF, granted, but they're also optional.
Learn to use the hand brake. Not only does it stop you going off the road unwittingly, but it's useful for making sharp turns at speed.
Learn when to use nitro. It's one of those things you sort of need to feel out for yourself.
Get a decent cowcatcher on the Deuce when they become available at the Motor Forge (the plow on the front of the car.) You don't need the best one or anything, but having it helps you plow through "obstacles" without being stopped cold or thrown off track.
Also guns. Even if they don't kill what's in front of you, they tend to get things moving out of your way. I recommend the machine guns, but personal taste will vary.
machines guns confirmed the best weapon they auto lock and deal more DPS overall enemies don't usually group enough for aoe to be worth it.
all the stupid iron maidens and explosions
Yeah, I didn't notice any lag in that part. The action was hot and heavy, for sure, but not laggy. And my machine is not top of the line by any definition.
Maybe you've got too many other things running in the background while playing the game? (The game is from 2009, so I'm assuming it's not a hardware problem.)
If you've got an nVidia GPU, you might also want to check that it's using the nVidia card for this game. I've noticed on a few Steam games - on a game to game basis - that my machine sometimes defaults to using the integrated graphics chip even though the discrete GPU is there and idle. You should be able to specify "always use nVidia" for this game in the graphic card's settings menu if that's the case.
