Ending..?

This may contain spoliers, so if you haven't finished the game yet don't read any further. Unless you don't care for it to be spoiled or not.

In the end you realize that the black tears Ophilia isn't the real Ophilia. Then you rescue her from under the sea of black tears. Next thing that happens, you back at blade henge and everyone is partying, except you. Then the speeches happen and you're cleaning up the stage. Then it cuts to you in the druid plow. Then you see Ophilia sitting alone on some hill top crying.

So I just don't get it. He doesn't get the girl. She dosen't get the guy. Like why?

I conjecture these scenes were to embark us upon the sequel, since the project was already started until it soon got canceled.
My grasp of the ending is the freedom of humanity ("This Brutal land is once again free, for now") with Eddie completing his father's mission and now implying his routine in the age of Metal, as he did back in the modern age. I guess he does get the girl. Check out Ophelia (I don't want to spoil it).

I did some research and found out about the thing with Ophelia. But I don't know that ending just seemed like, annoying. Like it's a secrete to everyone but Eddie that Ophelia is alive. Like everyone else still blames her, for nothing really. Plus there just seems like no closure as Eddie and Ophelia never talk about the mistake, about accusing her of betraying them to the demons. But then again maybe the creators thought it wasn't needed. Who knows.

The game was never finished soo the ending we got was a product of low funds and a rushed deadline which makes sense as demon forces are quite uncommon in stage battles which is the main battles of the game.
