I'd also like to know if the xbox controller type is supported, if anyone has information on this please post it.

You would think controls info would be on the store page, google can take 5 mins or 5 days depending on how much bs is in the way.

In the PS2 version the camera controls were backwards, moving the stick right would look left, this pretty much made it unplayable.

Joy2key is a good free solution for key mapping of the 360 controller. If you're willing to pay, Xpadder is excellent with a great community.

Either program will let you use a controller in just about any game you want by emulating the keyboard and mouse.

As you know recently steam made big picture mode, so that means all games in steam can
be played with an xbox controller,

As all the other Tomb Raider games yeah it uses a controller if you play with the keyboard the controls are a bit stiff and glitchy
Not all teh shoiulder buttons will function and you will need them! I reccomend Xpadder, works perfectly and you can set it to a control scheme that suits you.

I recommend using a solution like JoyToKey to play this game with an XBOX 360 controller.

The default control with the left thumbstick in this game is terrible, it's kind of a "semi-analogue" approach, you can walk and run with it, but it's hard/impossible to run and turn at the same time so it's a mess. I recommend using the D-Pad for movement and just alternate between run and walk with the dedicated button (that you need to sidestep anyway).

JoyToKey also has the following advantages over the in-game controller support:

- You can assign actions to the triggers and thumbsticks
- You can map QuickSave (F5), QuickLoad (F6), Pause (Esc), next weapon/previous weapon and Inventory (Tab) to the controller

I had to remap "Stealth" to "Ctrl" and "Action" to "Enter" to be able to use the "A" button to select stuff in the menus. To go back on the menus you have to use "Esc" which would be the same as "Pause" and it's mapped to the "Start" button.

I've potentially stumbled onto the solution... if you go into the settings from the launcher with your xbox controller turned on... you'll notice it that it has a tab for it at the top now... go under it and click "enable".

It works. Doesn't fix the hella awkward controls, though.

It works.

this makes the launcher crash for me. the game will also crash as long as I have the xbox 360 controller enabled. having to use joy2key for now.

Not Neccessarily, this game is like 04/07 and was poorly optimized for PC. So just because there's big picture, doesn't mean you get Controller support for this game.

Game supports the 360 wired and wireless controllers, that's what I'm using.

You can use the Xbox 360 controller by manually mapping it's buttons in the config tool (it's been a bit since I've played this, but I remember it being possible). Do note however that the game has issues with the thumbstick axes and treats up/left and up/right as up when you're not moving, making it a difficult to turn in place.

when you start the game, a small config window appears...enable Xbox360 controller there... works without any mapping...
