Besides, TR:Next Generation project (AKA Angel of Darkness) was totally discarted, and Square Enix won't allow anything about the "classic" Tomb Raider, only its own two-times rebooted "Tomb Raider".
Correction: it was cancelled dut to being rushed by the publisher, who was near bankruptcy.
A lot of people mistakenly think that it was Core Design's fault.
I told you, that project you talk about is (sadly) longer dead. If you have any more questions, I can try to answer it.
Good point, but when you said "this game being poorly made" I understood that you were implying that it was Core Design's fault. I don't really know what you actually know, so I pointed out that little piece of information. No harm wanted.
Regards
As for state of AOD, it was really core design's fault for the way this game turned out.
They got a big budget and a long development time for a PS2 gen game and yet in the end the game became a complete disaster.
Rockstar had much less budget and had to use the 3rd party engine(Unlike core that had the resources to make their own engine) and they managed to make a much better product for the PS2 than Core Design.(GTA 3)
You may say that Eidos was the problem and yet:
-Ion Storm managed to make Deus Ex 1 for them.
-The looking glass studio managed to make Thief 1&2.
-Pyro managed to make Commandos 2 for them.
But on the otherhand Core failed with their TR 6 game despite having bigger budget and more marketing compare to games I mentioned.
@dprog1995, how is it cores fault? the game was rushed, Eidos kept sending the game to Playstation which makes them lose money each time Playstation declines it and it was declined a total of seven times to tell you how unfinished the game was. Not only that Eidos used Tomb Raider as a piggy bank which caused AoD great suffering. You also need to know that making Tomb Raider games for 6 straight years gets tiring. The team was also split in half in 2000 to make chronicles while the others worked on AoD, which then caused it to be scrapped because of how much of a mess the game was. Also the game was supposed to include 52 levels, four sections with Paris, Prague, Germany and Turkey but was not implemented because of the short time they had in completing the game.
I agree with both of you here. Let's not forget the s.hit Eidos pulled with Core's superior remake of TR1 that got cancelled in favour of Crystal Dynamics' remake i.e. a buggy mess with an unwanted Lara X Larson ship tease and Natla being retconned as a female Mumm-Ra.
With better planning, the game could have become the best entry in the franchise yet. It's such a shame it couldn't reach the full potencial they initially had planned for it.

TRAOD3 Dreams of resurrection

But the games will never be published (or maybe fanmades??) because they stopped everything due to the TRAOD problems (but TRAOD was not finished so it's not a surprise... they just needed more time to do good job and a good game).
