Tomb Raider Mouse Helper (add mouse control to TR1-5)
Hi. I'd like to share a utility that I've been working on and just updated to work with the Steam versions of the games.

Tomb Raider Mouse Helper is a Windows utility for the first five Tomb Raider games (I, II, III, The Last Revelation and Chronicles) which runs in the background and provides mouse control in those games by converting mouse movements into key presses. This allows you to move the mouse to turn left and right and, while holding the right mouse button, look all around. It also enables firing with the left button, drawing weapons with the middle button and easily setting up WASD or ESDF control schemes.

Features:
* Move the mouse to turn left and right (also can be used to rotate menus).
* Press and hold the right mouse button to look around (without moving).
* Press the left mouse button to fire and grab ledges (also can be used to select from menus).
* Press the middle mouse button to draw (and re-holster) weapons.
* Use the WASD (or any) keys to run, go backward and sidestep left and right.
* Scroll the mouse wheel or press left/right on it to rotate menus.

Instructions:
Simply run TombRaiderMouseHelper.exe and then run the game.

(Optional) Create a shortcut that will run the helper and game together:
1. Click on the "Create shortcut" button on the helper's main window.
2. Drag and drop either the game's shortcut or its .exe file onto the next window.
(This will create a new shortcut that runs the helper, then the game, then exits the helper when the game exits)

Great mod.

Have a question, does it also change swimming movements ?

Is it possible to make swimming work like Underworld where you can change the swimming direction by mouse?

Thanks.

You can turn with the mouse while swimming, if that's what you're asking. It won't dive or rise with the mouse, though. You'll still have to use the keyboard for that.

Hello,
I have troubles with Mouse Helper for Tomb Raider 1.
Feature: "Move the mouse to turn left and right (also can be used to rotate menus). " doesnt work for me. Somehow scroll wheel took over this feature and Im not sure how to correct it. Any suggestion?
Thanks!

this is a very great utility otherwise but i'm having a problem where the holster key either doesnt work or it works as jump button simultaneously, making it unplayable.

is there some way to edit the tomb raider controls so that i could assign the Holster key forexample to E?

edit: i went with the way that you change jump key into Alt and then put default control scheme back and that allows to draw with mb3 and jump with Alt. would take spacebar jump over Alt but sofar can't get it to work in any possible way.

This is a common problem for players who edit the game controls to use Space to jump.

The "Default Keys", such as Space to draw/holster weapon, or Alt to jump, cannot be changed.
If you edit the "User Keys", for example E for holster and Space for jump, then it may be possible to get the game to only respond to the User Keys for any shared inputs (Space, in this case) by opening and closing the controls menu each time you start the game.

To use the middle mouse button to draw/holster, edit mappings in the Mouse Helper app (change from Space to E). I haven't used the app, but the wiki page suggests it can be done.

Just found this wondering how this game hasn't already had a patch like this.

On a Mac and trying to run under DOS (more so out of aesthetics) and tried to run the program. I'm being told by DOS that it can't be run under DOS mode.

Am I doing something wrong/setting or is this a bug?
