The game itself is fine. If you live on the American continent, by all means, get it, because you likely know everything you need to know about it. Don't bother reading my review, because it will not be useful for you.

However, if you live in Middle or Eastern Europe (though some people living in Western Europe, going as far as eastern United Kingdom, are also affected), please read this before buying.

After the grand separation of the world into "normal" and "Russian" parts (which don't really fit the real-life borders, since Middle and Eastern Europe got mixed into the "Russian" territory, too) done by the distributors of this game, I have several complaints.
1. I cannot access the game's international community hub - I am forced to be segregated into the Russian one, despite the fact I can barely read cyrillic script and I don't know Russian that much - not to mention I cannot contribute to the community at all, since nobody will understand me. If this is not regional/national/lingual segregation, even if done by accident, then I don't know what it is - and I don't really care to know. I am, for all practical purposes, segregated, anyway. Why can't I just read what the entire world has to say about this game, but instead, I have to be a part of community dominated by people who write in a script which I can barely read, let alone understand the language once I figure out what each letter actually represents?
2. Installing mods is much harder now. Owners of the RU version cannot easily install mods from Nexus by using the Nexus wizard app - I have to do this manually and through trial-and-error, figure out how to properly do this before I play. It is not a simple matter of putting a mod in the proper folder, but also the matter of telling the game's launcher in which order should the mods be launched, something that the Nexus wizard app can do with relative ease in case of the standard international New Vegas edition. This means I have to spend countless hours not only figuring out how to install a mod, but also testing the game, hoping that the mods were loaded in the right order. Sometimes this is not apparent instantly, but surfaces after hours of gameplay. You can fix that afterwards, but this usually means you lose your precious progress and you lose your time.

Treating players like this is unacceptable and disrespectful. Whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed of themselves.

Also, I paid for this game in euros, with normal, international price, long before this division. Russians could get this game for less money - understandable, given the global economical situation. But why do I have to get mixed into all of this if I paid more than a person living in Russia did? Why can't we just all enjoy this game without giving a damn about national borders, or at least choose whether we want to be part of international community, or the "Russian" one?

My review will remain negative until this issue changes to the prior state.

Example of absurd region locking practices.

Having separate eastern europe version makes no sense since steam already has region locks and the fact that publisher even put PCR in game title for everyone to see is unacceptable.
At least in year 2022 Bethesda acknowledged that Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic and many others ARE NOT RUSSIA and changed title from insulting "Fallout: New Vegas RU" to less insulting "Fallout: New Vegas PCR"
I don't know why Bethesda decided to screw over Dishonored and New Vegas like that, but we don't need this digital ghetto.

Patrolling the Mohave surely makes you wish for another Fallout-game by Obsidian.

played for 6 hours straight, lost everything on roulette, sold my guns to get more chips, went on a winning streak, got my money back and the game crashed before i could save

Fantastic game, one of my all time favourites. <Mentally handicapped> publisher, one of my all time most hated. Seriously. Half a year ago this game was "Overwhelmingly positive" for most of its lifetime on Steam. Now "Mixed"? I log in to my account, check my games, and find a "RU" behind the New Vegas name. Wow.

Just wow. Why the <vulgar synonym of intercourse> was this even neccessary? It had to take effort to change this, someone had to come and say "Hey, I have a fantastic idea! Let's <urinate> off a <intercourse>ton of our player base by condescendingly ignoring their nationalities. Slovakia? <Intercourse> that. Czech republic? <Intercourse> that. None of them boshiewiks speak english anyway!" and then dedicate the man power neccessary to effect those changes. I mean what in the glory of the great flying spaghetti monster is the added benefit of doing this change?

I work at a corporation so I understand the ammount of <male cow excrement> that can be produced by the upper eschelons of cerebrally challenged management, but this really takes the cake.

Slovakia is not Russia! Eat <male phallic appendage>. Bought one game from Bethesda. This one. (I'm not counting classic fallouts). Never bying any other.

Got "PCR" version instead of the original version of the game, that is no workshop and community hub full of russian azbuka nonsense. Apparently bethesda thinks EU is part of Russia.

Suddenly, this game, that I own for several years, has gotten annoyng RU tag. Until now I thought that I live in EU, but I guess that I was wrong. Apparently big part of EU now belongs to Russia. I don't know who is responsible for this - Bethesda or Valve. However, I suggest to finally buy them new maps and give some history lessons. Theese poor people should know that Soviet Union has collapsed decades ago.
