anyways, take all this with a grain of salt. with the devs dead and the community patch going slow. your best bet is either: Avoid touching your pc when it is saving. Or loading an earlier save and avoid some building or action that might be suspicious for you. Or just make another colony
after all, any colony that reaches 100 peeps is an astounding success anyways (both ingame and the game coding capacities)
welcome to the club pal.
I also checked "Disable display scaling on high DPI setting" in the Compatiblity tab for the EXE too, but I'm not sure if that helped anything.
Yes. I found that crashes when saving a game in the latter stages of the game is not a cpu problem, its a GPU problem. If your graphics board only has 1 Gb of memory, it will crash. The reason for this is, there are more graphical components in the later stages compared to the earlier stages. I.E. more people, more buildings, more items etc.
I highly reccomend playing this game on an i7 cpu and a graphics card with at least 2 Gb of memory. 4 Gb of memory is even better. The more fans your graphics card has, the more steam punk there is.
This is an excellent idea as the CE patch updates are unannounced. I've found at least 2 updates since the patch was introduced and I'm sure there will be a new one coming soon.
