Can i play DAYZ without arma 2 but with Operation Arrowhead only?

The updates for DayZ will be downloaded by Steam, yes. But you can't play without ARMA 2.

Yup. Only difference is that you'll have lower resolution textures.

As for other mods, there's Chernarus Apocalypse(what inspired DayZ), Wasteland, ACE, and a ton of others that I can't recall.

u need both full versions ,otherwise its not playable!

It is playable with the demo/free version of ARMA 2.

They are on sell all the time. Just pick them up its way better with the higher res textures.

Yes, but you need to install Arma 2 free, look in the store
