Man, both this game and HareBrained Schemes deserved better. It is really cool. Features both XCom-like tactical battles and Commandos-like stealth sections. Characters are great, they talk a lot during base conversations like Fire Emblem's support system. There is an ABSURD amount of lore to be found in missions such as posters, notebooks, letters, newspapers etc. You can clearly see how much passion and effort went into this game. You fight against 3 factions with different aesthethics and motives. There is a time limit system, but it is not unforgiving. I've recruited every single agent and completed the game with some time to spare. Downsides is mostly technichal. Performance is a bit iffy. It has stutters and slowdowns a bit frequently. I have encountered only a single but through my playthrough, so my experience was pretty much bug free. Sad to see this game flop despite its quality, but I'm still looking forward to HBS's next games.

there is a number of characters in the game, each with their own skills. there is zero balance to them. absolutely nil.

They range from "would have been easier with 2 characters instead of lugging along that idiot" to "watch this one character demolish a squash of 8 enemies without breaking a sweat".

Yeah, once again you have a huge roster of toons and only field 3 (or 4 on rare occasions) while the rest play pocket billard.
The setting would have been great, but the game is crap

using the op broken chars was fun for a time, but godmode gets old quickly.

deeply underwhelming product built on an extremely promising idea. we expect a degree of quality, fairness, and learning from any turn based tactics game. the formulais tried and true. especially when you are dealing with perma death characters. im a veteran of 30 years of turn based tactics games. I have loved previous entries into the genre by the developer and the publisher. Such as Battletech. But im also keenly aware when a games systems work against you from the get go. This, unfortunely, is one of those games. in Xcom this is forgiveable because you can replace your units, it is not in a character driven game such as this.
