EDIT: Actually better to probably just play soul reaver 1, soul reaver 2, blood omen 2 then soul reaver defiance, that's their release dates so gameplay wise from playstation 1 to 2 to the original xbox you'll probably find that the best, especially since blood omen 2 is a retelling of the past after soul reaver 2 and defiance is the last game in the series and the most technologically advanced.
Defiance is a conclusion to the whole story.
i think the game asks the system how much you have, and get's a number. as an example: games asks for how much ram you have and gets 1,000,000 but can onlly "see" 100,000 and thinks "not enough" because it can't notice enough digits to see the maximum.
edit: and i only have this problem with games that have been out for several years, or more in some cases
If you can call it a conclusion. The fact that they never continued this series is one of the biggest dissapointments of my childhood.
Blood Omen 1, Soul Reaver 1, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2(Which is the new timeline created by the multiple paradoxes that occur throughout SR2) and then Defiance. Defiance is by no means a true conclusion to the serie. It leaves a lot more open to question than it answers and the fact they cancelled Dark Prophecy and Dead Sun means we are unlikely to ever see it finished. Nosgoth is a parody of a game that shames the franchise.
