Just some notes on hover mode. When the bird is slower than 1.3m/s (4.3f/s) for about a second, the bird enters hover mode so there is more control for landing and manoeuvring. As soon as the bird is accelerated beyond 1.3m/s (4.3f/s), hover mode ends and fly mode begins. In fly mode the bird accelerates in a dive and slows in a climb unless the accelerate button (‘W’) is pressed. Not sure I have got the transition exactly right yet, maybe it is easier to have another key like ‘Q’ to toggle between...

A train car and rail tracks have been added to the game. Anytime when you are flying a course, you can fly to the train to gather time reduction ‘blueberries’. It may or may not be worthwhile spending time to fly to the train depending on where it is. The air inside the carriage moves with the carriage, so you can hove once inside. The bird will be moved to the far side of a corner when the train is cornering. This is realistic, but might make manoeuvring too hard. Still thinking about this....

Two new courses have been added (Energy Familiarisation, Cross Country) which work differently than the speedrun courses. The aim is to complete these courses with the most remaining energy, time does not matter. To do this, the bird soars ridges and glides to the next waypoint. Energy bonus can be received by getting the berries from eagles....

I got some helpful feedback that flying near the ground was too difficult for people who were new to the game. So there is now a ground assist mode (which can be disabled in settings) that helps the bird avoid ground and water. It does not avoid rocks or trees and you can still crash into the ground if you really try. Hopefully this will make flying low a little easier....

A time reduction bonus can be earned by completing a slalom run anytime while flying a course. There are two fairly simple slaloms at present.
