Survival guide:

The segment will cover how to work as a team, survive the game, proper weapon usage, weapon overviews, ammo types, types of zombies and other useful information.

Types of Game modes for NMRiH:

Objective(nmo_)
-Work as a team to reach the objective. Always stay with your team and always communicate with them. Objectives often need players to help each other through differrent means like holding off a door while another player picks up a gas can to blow the door or one player will stay at a keypad while another player finds and reports the locked door code.

Survival(nms_)
-Try to survive waves of the undead. This game mode focuses on protecting key points on the map (press C to highlight the maps onto your screen). To win at survival the team must ration their weapons and ammo and try to hold off the key points on the map.

Key points can be repaired with FEMA boxes. (Wooden crates with glow sticks on them).
-To pick up a FEMA bag from the box, a player must hold down his use key (E by default) then a green duffle bag will then appear onto the player's hand. The player must bring the bag to a key point that suffered damage from a zombie attack. He must then drop the bag within the zone's area. If he drops the bag successfully the zone is repaired by 10%.

Effects of successful zone defense. (At least 1 zone kept intact).
-Players will be rewarded with better loot from the supply drop. May contain a flare gun.

How to survive in survival?
-TEAMWORK. It is the most important lesson that survival gamemodes teach you. Ration your ammo and weapons. Do not horde. Communicate properly. Baricade the respective windows/doors to the zones.

A. Types of Zombies.

In No More Room in Hell; users will be against different types of zombies and we currently have 4 types as of update 1.06

1. The Walker.
- The name says it all. These are the basic zombies that players can encounter in the game, feared when in a group Walkers can quickly overcome any survivor with their ablity to grab and bite. These zombies can also infect the player with the zombie virus. The infection rate is random.

- Ways to fight the walker is to keep away from it. Do not engage groups of walkers at once for you may just be grab by one and then mauled by the over 3 beside it. You can shove walkers away if they get near you. The best tactic is to engage one by one and stay as far away from them.

2. The Child.
- Children who became zombies due to infection. Fast and agile zombies Children can instantly overwhelm any survivor due to the fact they are small and hard to see if they blend into a walker horde. They can also run but they can not infect survivors.

-Ways to fight this child is to best sprint a few meters away from it to line up a good shot then aim for the head. If they get to close shove them away. Children often spawn less than regular zombies but survivors shouldn't let their guard down.

3. The Runner.
-Feared and dangerous, the runner can sneak up on a survivor, grab them and infect them at an amazing speed. Runners are to be feared at all times, do not let your guard down if you spot one because more may be in the area.

-Ways to fight the runner is to get as far away from it. Aim for the head and shove them if they get too close. If you see more than 1 runner, try to warn your team about the threat so you can work together to bring them down.

4. The Infected Survivor.
- A player who is infected and dies or get overwhelmed by zombies turns into an infected survivor. These type of infected can sprint, grab, maul and infect other living survivors.

-Ways to PREVENT this is proper communication within the team. Let other people know you're infected, find the phalanx pills to counter act your infection or simply let them put a bullet into your brain. If you are near death and can not find any pills look for a far location away from the squad and just embrace your fate.

Items and Tools:

For this segement I will talk about the use of the different items and tools.

Items - Medical:

First aid kit - Used to bring a survivor back up to health. Low health is noted with a "Black and white" effect on the HUD.

Bandages - Used to stop the bleeding. Bleeding players will have a blood stain effect on their HUD and the character of the player will give reactions on is current state.

Phalanx pills - These pills will stop the effects of infection for 3 minutes. These are not a permanent solution to stop the infection. Infection will be noted with a playback audio of music as the infection continues to kill the player. Veins will be surrounding the vision of the infected player until he takes Phalanx pills.

Items - Tools:

Flashlight - Can be used as a last resort melee weapon. Can be used to illuminate dark areas of the map in which a player will need to look for supplies.

Walkie-Talkie - The VOIP of NMRiH is realistic. So if a player uses a mic and there is a player on the opposite side of the map he will not be able to hear the person speaking because of realism and this will always be on no matter what. To counter these a player will need to pick up a WT. With a WT in his/her inventory players will be able to hear and communicate better through VOIP.

NOTE: A person holding a WT will still have the same effects IF he/she is the only one with a WT.

Welder - Used to break locked doors. Holding down the RMB (right mouse button) will bring up the un-welding progress bar.

Fire extingusher - Used to put out flames blocking a player. Holding down the RMB (right mouse button) will bring up the extingush fire progress bar.

Flare Gun - This is used only during Survival game modes. A FG will need it's respective ammunition (Pure orange box). It is used to signal a helicopter to drop in supplies during/before/after a wave.

NOTE: If a FG is used as a weapon, it will ignite zombies causing them to run at the player closest to them. The FG should not be used as a weapon for it is a valuable item in Survival game modes.

Other tips from me:

1. TEAMWORK. I swear guys, it really helps out a lot if you share your ammo in this game. You can't horde everything since you have a weight limit. You'll be slowed down and tire alot if you carry too much items/weapons/ammo.

2. Communication. It's alright if you do not have a mic. A mic is not needed to enjoy this game. Just use the quick voice commands to tell your team what you need. But please do not spam it. I'm pretty sure the team wouldn't want to hear you request ammo or yell out "I NEED A WEAPON!!!".

3. Proper ammo/weapon usage. Remember, Always aim for the head. It does a whole lot of damage and it prevents you from wasting bullets. Ammo is very scarce in this game. So if you know how to use your weapon effectively and know how to preserve your ammo then you'll be living and breathing at the end of an objective map or surviving the last wave of a survival map.

4. Share share share! Remember this is a team game. No man is an island in this zombie apocalypse. If you have an extra box of ammo for your unused Colt 1911 share it with a team mate of better yet offer him your spare weapon. A well armed team will be able to withstand any threat. Just think about not sharing that if you have a lot of equipment and you die somewhere on the map and then you left your team with all melee weapons,do think if they'll be able to survive 20+ runners and 10+ children in one wave? So share.

5. Know your map. There are alot of maps in NMRiH. The best way of survival is to know your map. Get to know proper chokepoints to wittle down the zombie threat, sniper points and arm your team with the SAKO 85 to thin the horde, fall back points in care your team gets overrun. It's best if you place spare weapons at certain points in the map so that if you get breached and happen to be on the run you can pick up the weapons you stashed and get back into the fight and try to retake your base.

End of Survival guide.

Well guys, this is what I could offer to all those new players out there. I hope this guide was able to help. If you got anymore questions feel free to comment and i'll do my best to answer them all.

Thanks for reading and good luck out there!

As Riley pointed out, the team set up a wiki. We could use an editor like you there, as the team is busy with the content. It's up to the players to write it for now.
