You also have to consider the fact that majority of the ammo you pick up is in ammo boxes, not preloaded in magazines, therefore we already skip the realism factor of taking the time to load your magazines with the bullets you find. If we can skip that amount of realism and "time consuming activity" then I don't see why we can't magically extract the ammo from half empty magazines as well.
Even when you find ammo in magazines, like for the .556 and I believe the 7.62, you "magically" fuse all of the ammo into one magazine when picking multiple up. You don't have 3 half empty magazines of .556 ammo on you after picking up 3 mags.
100% agree, there should be a unload button, i actually prefer a magazine system like Red Orchestra, but things are fine as it is.
Devs have already said they are working on unloading weapons, it is mentioned in a "pinned" discussion.
If the game was as "realistic" as some people want to stress, you'd be throwing away ammo everytime you reloaded while not fully empty. You'd be able to load an extra round in the chamber as well as have a full mag. You wouldn't ever have a full reload when using the .556 and 7.62 weapons, and you'd have to spend all day shoving the 40 or so rounds of 9mm and .45 ammo you find into magazines that you'd still have to find as a seperate item.
Right now we pull magazines out of our ass and refill them with magic.
It's loading ammo into magazine that takes a minute.
If so, your reloads would take insanely long as you wouldn't be instantly reloading 9mm pistols with a full magazine.
Resident Evil Outbreak somehow magically have characters jamming multiple rounds into pistols manually.
Pistols takes rounds from a magazine, so you can't shove rounds into it from the top of the gun one by one and expect it to work right?
The rounds doesn't go through the gun into said magazine in that case.
That's what he meant.
